Toronto – Oct. 31, 2012 – More than 700 attendees at the Canadian Society of Training and Development’s Conference and Trade Show will be able to establish relationships with professionals in similar business roles as well as categorize and retrieve information learned throughout the event using Tappestry, the enterprise social network for learning.

“We’re excited to offer our participants an opportunity to share what they’re learning with each other and with their teams back at the office,” said Lynn Johnston, CAE, president of CSTD. “We consistently hear from attendees to our events that they really value everything they learn from each other during conferences like these, so the Tappestry app is a great way to make this even easier for them.”

By using Tappestry, event attendees will be able to leverage the wealth of information available at the conference. Attendees can not only share what they’ve learned, but they can view what others in different sessions have posted, as well. This knowledge base will be available after the conference so that attendees can retrieve data that is relevant to them at a later time.

“Feedback from attendees is essential to constant improvement. Having a way for people to instantly let us know what they’re learning and what they like is great because it lets us adapt even as the conference unfolds,” Johnston said.

Categories developed specifically for the CSTD group consist of the various conference trends, such as Measurement and Evaluation, Leadership and Change, Managing the Learning Function and more.

In order to join the CSTD group, attendees will receive an instructional card with the bags they receive at registration. The card will list directions on how to download Tappestry and the necessary PIN code to join the group. Learning events, or threads, entered in this stream are viewable only to other conference attendees who have access to the group.

The CSTD Conference and Trade Show takes place Oct. 31 through Nov. 2 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
