Transition Assistance Program
The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) helps military service members make plans and goals for success as civilians. The TAP mobile app prototype we developed for the research branch of the U.S. Department of Defense embraces each person’s unique path to civilian life, so we offer a personalized tool to help service members through a challenging part of their life’s journey. Returning troops and their counselors can track their progress with the more than 200 tasks they must complete. For example, the app’s geolocation features help service members find nearby wellness services and institutions for education, careers, training, and entrepreneurship. Push notifications remind them to complete tasks on schedule. TAP was developed for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.
